Common questions
Clear answers to the questions clients usually ask before choosing a citizenship or residence programme.
Is residence by investment the same as citizenship by investment?
No. Residence gives immigration/residence rights under the relevant permit. Citizenship creates nationality status. A residence programme may or may not create a later path to naturalisation, and any such path has separate requirements.
Can the website tell me the cheapest programme?
It can compare headline thresholds, but “cheapest” depends on family composition, investment route, refundable versus non-refundable capital, government fees, professional costs and eligibility.
Does Portugal still have a property Golden Visa?
Portugal’s current ARI qualifying routes no longer include the old residential-property acquisition route. The site therefore presents current non-real-estate ARI options.
Is Malta MPRP citizenship?
No. The Malta Permanent Residence Programme grants permanent residence status to qualifying applicants; it is not citizenship by investment.
Does Canada offer citizenship by investment?
No. The Québec Investor Program is an investor immigration pathway involving Québec selection and the federal immigration process. Citizenship, if later pursued, is a separate process after meeting Canadian citizenship rules.
Who gives the UK immigration advice?
The website provides general information about UK routes, but personalised UK immigration advice and application services are referred to an appropriately regulated UK immigration adviser or law firm. The regulated provider conducts its own fact-find, confirms whether it can act and is responsible for the advice it gives.
Can you guarantee approval?
No. Government authorities retain decision-making powers and conduct due diligence. No legitimate adviser should guarantee a citizenship or residence approval.
Should I choose a contribution or property route?
That depends on your objective. Contributions are normally sunk cost; property/fund routes may preserve capital but introduce market, holding-period, legal, liquidity and transaction risks.
Do I need tax advice?
Often, yes. Citizenship, immigration residence and tax residence are different concepts. Cross-border tax, succession, corporate and reporting consequences is reviewed by appropriately qualified advisers.
