Global Talent

A flexible UK work route for qualifying leaders or potential leaders in academia or research, arts and culture, and digital technology.

UK service model: this website provides general information only. Personalised UK immigration advice, legal fact-finding, instructions and application services are provided separately by an appropriately regulated UK immigration adviser or law firm. Request contact from the regulated UK partner →

Who qualifies

Applicants generally need endorsement by the relevant approved body unless they hold an eligible prestigious prize that allows a direct visa application.

Work flexibility

The route is not tied to one sponsoring employer in the way a Skilled Worker visa is, making it particularly useful for qualifying internationally recognised professionals.

Family

Eligible partners and children can apply as dependants, subject to the applicable rules.

Long-term position

Settlement and citizenship

Depending on the field and basis of endorsement or prize, settlement may be available after 3 or 5 years. Naturalisation as a British citizen remains a separate later process.

Key considerations: Applicants must satisfy the relevant endorsement or eligible-prize criteria for the Global Talent route.
